Disneyland!!!

As part of our vacation to California we planned to take the 2 older boys down to Disneyland. Garrison stayed with my mom as we felt he was still a bit too young to remember anything and Grandma and Papa were very excited to spend some one on one time with him for a couple days!

So, we headed down in our McGuyver'd minivan for a vacation within our vacation.

We went down on Sunday afternoon and hung out at Downtown Disney.
 ICE CREAM!!!!
After Downtown Disney, we headed back to our hotel and went next door to eat dinner...we had to eat at my most favorite place EVER. And I had to have a Lava Flow since they had them on the menu and the only other place I have ever had one is Hawaii. And yes, for those of you counting, this is my 2nd drink on this vacation...
and then, we walked around some. There were lots of fountains and the kids loved to look at them.
Look at the sign behind the G-Men...
 hotel room entertainment. Exciting, eh?
And, then on Monday, we hit Disneyland BRIGHT and EARLY!!
Its just too bad his eyes are closed...
waiting for the park to open.
The first ride we went on was Space Mountain. Neither kid liked it, but they didn't hate it either. When we asked if they wanted to go on it again both said "no, we're good". This ride was Grady's pick.
Waiting....although, we really never waited more than about a half an hour while we were at Disneyland.
Autopia!
It's a small world after all....
Taking a break and riding the train. I think this might have been Grady's favorite because it didn't go "fast" or "have drops".
The tree house formerly known as The Swiss Family Robinson House.
 Tom Sawyer Island.
Grady and I rode the Winnie the Pooh ride while Gibson and Gregg did Splash Mountain. Grady rode Splash Mountain once and screamed the whole time. To say he wasn't a fan is a HUGE understatement!
Dole Whips. For dinner. We were at Disneyland, after all.
Waiting for the fireworks to start!
FIREWORKS!! Grady thought it was too loud, but Gibson LOVED the show. And so did Gregg and I. It has been YEARS since I've seen the fireworks show there.

 DISNEY CALIFORNIA ADVENTURE!!

First thing Tuesday morning, we headed over to DCA and headed to the new CARSLAND. So AWESOME, it was literally like walking through the movie. The main attraction there is the Radiator Springs Racers. We followed the crowd to get in line...As we were getting in line, they informed us the ride was "down" and that we could wait or come back...we decided to wait.
and wait we did...at this point, we had been in the line about 45 minutes.
and this was still where we were headed...
 Still waiting.
AS we got to the front and were NEXT to get on the ride, it BROKE. Boo! So, we waited another hour to get on the ride....for a total of, wait for it,

3 HOURS for the ride. Sheesh. Longest ride we waited for.

BUT, it was worth it, it was a totally fun ride. I thought they should have let us run through twice, but that didn't happen.
My mad self portrait skills come in handy at times like this. I love being able to get all of us in the shot :)
Gibson and I on the Jellyfish ride. I think it use to be the parachute ride or something like that at Disneyland.
The view from the top of the jellyfish ride.
While Gregg and Gibson did the water ride (rafting something), Grady and I played in the play area that was nearby. Grady LOVED it and probably could have been there all day.
Gibson after the water ride.
I wanted to ride the Ferris Wheel...I had to convince a few kids. Actually, I told them they had to do it for me, period.
 Ya, I'm a mean mommy.
 Grady didn't like it...
But at least he calmed down.
And then, Gregg started potty talking and let them potty talk, and all was better. *sigh*
On the Toy Story ride, which was AWESOME.
 Gregg is unhappy.
But I told him we were a the happiest place on earth and he needed to shape up his attitude....
And, I'm pretty sure, I might be the only normal one in my group.
Before the World of Color show started.
 Soooo pretty!
 Carsland at night.
We had a great time. The boys are still talking about the trip.
