Grady

So, after nap today Grady needed a few extra snuggles, so I was cuddling him on the couch when he decided he was done and wanted to walk along the couch instead. So, I let him for a bit and man, do you see how big this kid is getting? Look what he figured out how to do! Goodness, I hope he is not a climber. Crazy kid. He is not even one yet but he sure is darn cute!

Gibson's 3 year check up

So, today was Gibson's 3 year check up with our new doctor. I had been prepping him so that he was prepared that our old doctor would not be there. He really liked her a lot, so I didn't want him to freak out by the new lady.
Anyway, on the way to drop Grady off at my aunt's so that I didn't have to deal with both kids, Gibson threw up...and not just a little, I mean a lot and everywhere, all over himself, his carseat, my car. Poor guy. This is only the 3rd time Gibson has ever thrown up, my kids just don't do that generally. So, we get to Aunt Wanda's and get him all cleaned up and I drop Grady off and then I have to head back home to get him some new clothes. So, we are finally back on the road again...we made it to the doctor only 5 minutes late after all that.
Anyway, the doctor wasn't concerned with the throwing up, she said there is a little summer bug that is going around and it usually lasts 24 hours...I personally think it's the milk that I gave him this morning, since immediately after finishing it, he threw up. Anyway...
Gibson is 37 lbs (90%) and 40.25 inches tall (95%), so he is quite a big kid. She said he looks really good and seems to be doing well. No shots today. She was glad to hear that he is going to be starting preschool in September and she gave me some pointers on potty training (which is still an issue around here, now he won't even sit on the potty!)
Anyway, here is a picture of Gibson after we got there, you can tell he doesn't feel good.
AND then, he decided to lay down on my lap...now anybody who knows Gibson, knows there is something wrong if he even decides to sit down for 2 minutes, let alone lay his head on my lap. I was shocked.
But, after a bit, he started feeling better and was playing with the table they have in there.

Birthday Celebration!

Tonight we took Gibson out to dinner for his birthday celebration. He likes it when the guys at the local Mexican restaurant sing, so we headed there for dinner. Gibson would not however, were the "special birthday hat" aka the sombrero.
He wasn't too sure what to think about the 20 people singing to him...

THEN...we went over to Aunt Wanda/Uncle Steve's to give Gibson his birthday present. We have been hiding it over there for the last month. Gibson was sooo excited. When US asked Gibson what he got, Gibson said "Its a really cool bike". We had a very hard time getting Gibson off the bike, for cake, for going home, for going to bed tonight. He is beside himself with excitement.

Uncle Steve really worked with Gibson to get him to understand how to use the brakes. On his trike he would just put his feet down, that doesn't work on this bike.

Grady took a cat nap through all this

Livvie giving Gregg some loves. She LOVES him (and hates me, but that is another story).

Look at Grady's foot, he was not too excited about sitting on the grass.

Action shot about talking about bike riding

The cake I made Gibson...it's no Ace of Cakes job, but it sure did taste good.

Bobette (again)

Safe travels back to India...I'll miss you, my friend. Thanks for visiting and staying up and chatting with me til 2am. I hope you weren't too tired!

Party Hardy!

Today was a busy day. Of course, since it was Gibson's birthday we asked him what he wanted to do this morning and he said "go ride bikes downtown", so ride bikes downtown we did. We he rode his bike, Grady sat in the stroller and Gregg and I walked but, you know what I mean. It was a hot one today, so we didn't stay out long.

Then after we got back and had lunch we headed to Tiernan's first birthday party! He and Gibson share the same birthday.

I made this dress for Kea about 2 years ago I think...It has gotten alot shorter on her recently. Darn kids, why do they have to grow so fast?

This is a fun game the kids were playing, it's called Elefun (I think?) and the elephant shoots butterflies out it's trunk and you have to catch it with a net.

Cupcake #1 for the day
George & Tiernan with the dump truck we gave him.
After Tiernan's shindig, we headed down to Lakebay (about 1.5 hours south & west of us) to my friend Audra's house for her daughter Rylee's first birthday party. Her birthday is on Monday but the celebration was today! Gibson spent the entire time in the kiddie pool, only stopping to have a cup cake and a few bites of hotdog, Grady was less than amused with everything and a bit fragile, probably from his lack of nap today and his routine totally being thrown off. It was SO hot there...I sat in the shade the whole time and still managed to get a little sun.

And this is a cool gift from the Van Liew Clan. It's a viewfinder. Gibson is ALL OVER this one...he wouldn't put it down and kept showing us what he was looking at, it was quite cute. He likes to call it his "noculars" because he thinks they are binoculars.
