Happy Halloween

Just a few pictures of the boys from tonight before everything got started. Both boys were very excited about wearing their costumes. I have tried to take Grady's off of him, but he keeps bringing it back to me to put back on. Crazy kid.

This picture cracks me up. I wasn't going to post it, but then after I was looking at it, I thought it kinda looked like Grady was trying to leap like a frog and with Gibson and his arms out, it just struck me as a funny picture.

Gregg took Gibson down to the Trunk or Treat at the Town Center, so they are there, of course, I spaced and forgot to hand Gregg the camera they were leaving, it was in my hands and everything so that I wouldn't forget. DUH. So no trick or treating pictures this year. Ooops. I opted not to go down there this year because the cold air makes me want to throw up, it's terrible, so Grady and I are at home answering the door.
And Happy Birthday to Auntie Bridget! We hope you had a great day. :)

It's 4:45AM, what are YOU doing?

Me? I should be sleeping, but NO, I had to get up around 3AM to go to the bathroom and that was all she wrote. Lots of tossing and turning and staring at the ceiling but no more sleeping for me. So, yes, I have been up for over an hour and a half already.

I'm annoyed. I can't seem to shut my mind off, so here I am downstairs, staring at the computer hoping it will make me drowsy. So far, no luck. I'm feeling stressed for some reason. Could be the jury summons I received in the mail last night to report the week of Thanksgiving (what am I suppose to do with my kids? What about our trip we have planned for the holiday? I know it's my civic duty and it's not like I don't want to serve my community, but these are the issues). Or could be any other number of things.

:sigh:

It's going to be a loooooooooooooooooooooong day. Can I just cry now and get it out of the way? 4 hours of sleep is not nearly enough for me in my current state. I can only hope that I can get a nap today.

Pajama Day

So, in leu of costumes for Halloween, Gibson's preschool does 'Pajama Day'. Gibson LOVED the idea of wearing his pajamas outside the house and he thought it was fun that all the other kids and teachers had on their pajamas too.

Early Halloween

Aunt Wanda & Uncle Steve are going to the beach this weekend, so they won't be around on Friday for Halloween, so I decided to dress the boys up today and take them over there because Gibson wanted to show them his bat costume. He was so excited. Grady wasn't quite as thrilled with the costume, but he played along nicely. They looked so cute! Gibson is going to have so much fun on Friday night, I think this will probably be the first year he really remembers what is going on.

Allison W.S. are you out there???

I can't find your email (I think I actually lost it when the computer crashed), and I am not sure of the phone numbers I have for you and don't want to call some random people incase they are not yours anymore...can you email me? gsallaroundme@gmail.com

Another Gibson Funny!

So, Sunday night we were headed into our Financial Class (yes, I know, I still need to write about that! I will, I will.) and Gibson and I are walking through the parking lot and he says to me "Momma, you are at the TOP of your game!" I said "What? I'm at the top of my game?" He said "Ya, I'm at the top of my game too!" Totally hysterical. I'm pretty sure he got it from the movie Cars, which, clearly means that we have seen that movie one. too. many. times.

My darling sister...

Dear Kelli,

I know you want me to update my blog everyday because, well that has been how things have happened in the past, but you see, now-a-days, I am often busy trying not to puke, or running after my (very) mobile kids, or taking a nap instead of updating the blog because I am so tired. I am ultra focused on the not trying to puke thing because, well, I would rather be run over by a truck than puke (or, :shudder:, dry heavy) , it's consuming my life lately. Also, lately, I have just flat out forgotten to take pictures, you can blame that on pregnancy, the brain is the first thing to go when one is baking a new babe.

I will try harder, but I can't guarentee anything.

I still love you even though I know you are totally annoyed with the lack of updates about your "mushrooms".

Your older and wiser and very crappy feeling sister whom you love with all your heart,

April

Spartan Gym

Today, my friend Kristi and I met up at Spartan Gym for a sort of last minute get together. We haven't seen each other in a while, so we figured it was time to get the kids together. Grady had never been to the gym before when he could actually get down and play there, so it was an exciting day. Gibson had a good time with Ethan & Gwennie as usually and Grady loved it. He was all over the place, playing with everything, it was fun to watch him be so independant and play with all the toys and other kids.

Sweet Elsa

Like the bump on Grady's forehead? I *think* that was from when Gibson knocked him over, but I can't be sure.

After we left there we picked up McDonalds and headed back to our house. Grady just LOVES Elsa, it's so cute. He loves to hug and kiss her (and occasionally try to step on or lay on her). I hope this is a good sign of how he will be with his new brother or sister. Elsa was equally as facinated with him, It was so sweet.

Date Night

Saturday night was our date night and we were going out to celebrate our 9th wedding anniversary, so decided we were going to head over across the water (yes, another ferry ride, Gregg could ride the ferries everyday!) to Langley and eat at Cafe Langley. They have Greek style food and the menu looked really good to us. This restaurant came highly recommended. It's a quaint little place with probably 15-20 tables and good service (incidently, our waitress totally reminded me of my friend, Antigoni - Antigoni, are you out there reading this?). It was fun. We didn't get dessert there because the only thing that sounded good could have had peanuts (I'm allergic for anyone who doesn't know that) in it, so we had to pass. So, we headed back across the water and grabbed dessert on this side.
Waiting in line for the ferry
Gregg wanted his picture with the ferry in the background

Look very closely at the GPS. It looks like we are driving on the water. I'm not sure why we think that is funny, but we did. The "line" through the middle of the screen is suppose to be the ferry route.

Our appetizer - Hummus and Babah Gannoush (sp?)

Our dinners - Gregg had a mixed grill and I had flank steak. The green beans were divine. Of course, because I had eating on the brain, I didn't take a picture of my dinner until I had eaten a bit of it, so yes, you get to look at a picture of food that has been partially eaten. I guess that means you know it was good!

Neighborhood Excitement

So, our neighbors up the street were pouring a new cement patio in theit backyard and so Lisa invited all the neighborhood kids over to see the cement truck and the rigging that goes with it. The kids LOVED it. It was cool. They hook the cement truck up to this "boom" thing (not sure what it was called) that goes up over the house and then the cement comes out of a hose/nossle and goes onto the patio. It was quite a slick little operation. We missed them taking the "boom" up and over the house, but Gibson did get to see them lower it back on the truck. I think that was his favorite part of the day.

Friends

Wednesday night, our friends (next door neighbors) had a dinner to go to and so we kept their girls for them since this was a grown up event. This was the first time they had left their little one, Dima, with anybody. She is 7 months old and didn't like me for nothing, but LOVED Gregg and so when she wasn't napping she sat with him. I told him she liked him better because he had more cushion for snuggling. Later, her mom informed me she just likes men better. ;)
Nour and Gibson had a great time playing. Gibson didn't take a nap that day, so he was sort of a mess and had to go to bed early, which as kind of a bummer for Nour, but she enjoyed playing without anyone bugging her. She kept asking to go upstairs and go to sleep with Gibson, it was cute.

Gibson's first dentist appointment

Today was Gibson's first ever dentist appointment (I know, bad mom). I was really worried about this but, I found a Pediatric Dentist and we made the appointment. Gibson did GREAT. Seriously, I was worried for nothing. Of course, it did help that they had tvs on the ceiling for him to watch and that the dental assistant ROCKED, but he totally let her clean his teeth, floss his teeth, take x-rays and do a floride treatment. Gibson has "great spacing" according to the dentist and the best new is NO cavaties. We are hoping that means he has Gregg's teeth and not mine.
Grady went too for a check up, but no pictures of him because I had to hold him and he was not so fond of the doctor poking around his mouth.
Gibson goes back in 6 months, Grady doesn't have to go back for 1 year.

Our Anniversary

Today is our 9 year anniversary. We have plans on Saturday to celebrate with dinner out.

Wow. 9 years. Some days it seems like only 9 days, other days it seems like 90 years.

Happy Anniversary to us!

Happy Anniversary to my parental units!

Happy 36th Anniversary, Mom & Dad.

9 weeks

I took this picture of me last week at the 8 week mark. Not much has changed. No more growth, I am the same size I was 2 weeks ago when I took the other picture. I'm still experiencing quite a bit of "morning" sickness - it is still lasting all day and night. But I religilously wear my Sea Bands and make the best of things. Food is still a challenge, so I just eat a lot of saltines and then anything I crave. Gregg had to make a run to the Chinese restaurant the other night because I HAD to have some Hot & Sour soup! I've got a good guy who doesn't think twice about that, so it's great.
Anyway, only 31 more weeks to go (not that I am counting or anything)...

Gibson's Room

Well, his room is only about 1/2 done. I am still on the hunt for pillow shams (meanwhile, why is it no one makes BLUE pillow shams? and did you know that Wal-Mart doesn't even carry pillow shams?), a bed skirt and some wall hangings. So, the walls are completely empty and the bed doesn't match, but he LOVES his new room, especially the "cool blue walls" and loves to play in there when he needs a break from things downstairs. It's great.

Just a few pics of my adorable boys

Things are still crazy around here so as a result, I have been very neglectful of my blog and of just taking pictures in general.
We are really struggling lately with Gibson's behavior and his backtalking, so a lot of my day is focused on him. I didn't think backtalking started so early, but apparently, it does. If anyone has any advise on how to deal with that leave me a comment so far nothing seems to work. Speaking of talking, I WISH Grady would start talking already. He is squaking like a bird and screaming about everything and it is like nails on the chalkboard some days. Gibson was saying quite a few words at this age and I know every kid develops differently, but one or two words would be really really nice. He gets so frustrated when we can't help him because we can't figure out what he wants. Poor guy.
Anyway, here are a few pics from the week.

They love sitting together when they watch a video. It's so sweet.
