Why?

Why was I blessed with a "poop player?"
I can only hope that his brother is not a "player" as well...
(Sigh)

Some things old, some thing new

So, in preperation for this:
ala, our new carpet that is being installed on the 16th & 18th of this month (very exciting!), I have been going through everything (since basically we have to move out for this ordeal!) and cleaning, purging, boxing stuff up and have run across several things I forgot I had or quite honestly didn't even know I had (sad, but true).
I have found several pictures....some of them are real gems. I am choosing to share them with you all, my friends/family because no matter what styles come around again, I want this to be a reminder to you all that bad fashion can happen to fabulous people. :)
Ok, no bad fashion here .... well, at least on my part anyway. Here I am with the parental until circa 1975-76

Can you say GIBSON??? Boy, that apple didn't fall far.

Some school pictures....some of the hairdos in these pictures make me cringe. And yes, MOTHER, I know, I picked most of them....no need to remind me. And for the love of Tom, who let me leave the house looking like THIS? Ok, so the first picture, clearly, my mom let me leave the house like that, but the second one I was out of the house and making my own decisions (well, mostly, at least regarding clothing I was). Sheesh. Oh and that is my Aunt Wanda in the picture with me in front of my first car, George the Geo.

Oh, and Kelli, don't think I am not going to comment on those BOOTS (not sure if you all can tell but they have serious fringe on them!). Hello.... (also, with leggings AND a sweater? Please, sister, were ya cold? I mean, I am wearing a tank top and shorts...) no date on the back of that picture, but I am going to guess it was around 1986/7

Scenes from the day

This afternoon, Grandpa Burt & Grandma Cleo came by because I had some pictures for them. They got here right after Grady woke up from his nap, so they got to spend a little one on one time with him. Now, for those of you that thing Grady looks like Gregg, take a close look because Gregg is the spitting image of his dad, so Grady must look like him also...
Gibson's star glasses. Gregg taught him to say "I'm a Rocket Man" ala Elton John and so Gibson was running around saying "I Rocket Man, Mommy"
So, tonight it was decided that we were going to get pizza, so we pile into the truck and head out. After we got home we realized that Grady had fallen asleep, so I sat in the truck and ate my dinner so he could nap a little bit. After I finished my dinner and was sitting there a bit, I got bored sitting there and so I decided to wake him up, when I opened the door to get him, this is what I saw. He had flopped over and was completely out. Poor guy. He was so tired.

Happy 4th Birthday, Chloe!

Today, we went over to Chloe's house for her birthday party! We had a great time. There was a clown there to entertain the kids. Gibson was a bit shy about it at first and would only put his head in my lap or have me carry him and when I tried to put him down you would have thought I was trying to drop him into an alligator pond or something, the kid had his arms and legs wrapped around me so tight I couldn't get him picked back up. So, we ended up walking that way to a chair and hanging out there until he warmed up. Which only took about 5 minutes or so and then he had a GREAT time. Although he wasn't so keen on the clown touching him. Anyway, here are some pictures from the day!
This birthday girl and her mommy, Tamara
Sitting watching the clown from a distance. That is Terra and Allison in the background. To say Allison was freaked out by the clown is a major understatement, she would not leave Terra's arms and wouldn't even turn around!
Lolly the Clown with all the kids. Notice how far back Gibson is?
Laughing at the clown
He loved this trick she did. It was funny, he was totally cracking up. Chloe kept pulling more and more of the fabric out of the hat, it's like it never stopped. Only, eventually, it did.
Gibson was mildly obsessed with making sure Chloe had her birthday hat on.
Chloe's daddy and her little brother, Keith.
Not so shy anymore...
Gibs with "Tamare" as he calls her.
Lolly made balloon animals for all the kids. This orange dog is Gibson's.
Chloe's cake. Tamara made it.
Singing Happy Birthday to Chloe
YAY!

Houston, we have a problem....

Excuse my yelling but...
THE BOY IS NOT EVEN 9 MONTHS OLD YET, WILL SOMEOME PLEASE TELL HIM TO SLOW DOWN!!!!!
I mean really, he is my baby and needs to not be doing all these things so fast. I rather miss him just laying there. Between Gibson and him, it's non-stop around here...
Can't go anywhere without the spoon! (seriously, it's his new favorite toy!)

Well THAT was BRILLIANT!

NOT!

Sheesh...if it isn't one thing, it's another.
So, today I thought I would do a few things around the house (not as many things as I had hoped got done, but I digress)...so I grabbed the 400 left over fillable Easter eggs and I bagged them up and put them in the basket and thought I would put them up in the shelving in the garage instead of asking my husband to do it. So, I get out the step stool (because I am too lazy to get out the BIG ladder) and I climbed onto Gregg's workbench and as I get up there I THINK I have cleared the garage door railing when all the sudden *BAM* the side of my head meets the railing and my ear HURTS. BAD. So, as I am whincing from the pain and trying not to scream because I gotta get the eggs up on the shelf so that I can get the heck down from there and see if I am bleeding...I don't feel any blood on the outside of my ear but I really want to check in the mirror to see if I have done any damage.
So, I come in the house and look in the mirror and there is blood. Crud. I hate blood. I don't like bleeding (funny, I don't mind other people bleeding, but I have issues when it's my own blood) so I get the bleeding stopped (did you know ears take a long time to stop bleeding? sheeesh) and get it cleaned out and some medicine put on it and then I realize just what I did and then I get annoyed...so dumb. This is a dumb way to get hurt. Anyway, fast forward almost 12 hours and IT STILL HURTS and is still "throbbing"...I am not sure how I am going to sleep tonight since that is the side I sleep on. Also, talking on the phone has been a bit of a challenge because I use my left ear for that too...oh well. The bruising is worse now and pictures never do injuries justice, so just trust me when I say it's bruised up a bit.
Reminds me of a story that my parents have told me...a story that is funny now but I am not sure how much my father was laughing at the time....So my dad was vacuuming and had finished and decided instead of walking across the room to unplug the vacuum he was going to just yank it from where he was.....well, I am sure you can guess what happened, but incase you can't I'll tell you. The cord came back and smacked him square in the forehead. So, my mom comes in the room (home? I can't remember where she was) and my dad has 2 marks in the middle of his forehead....cracks me up everytime I think about this story!
I guess you can say when it comes to some not so bright things happening, the apple didn't fall far. (No offense, dad. You know, I love you to bits and your my favorite daddy EVER...)

Wait...what?

Isn't it SPRING? I mean REALLY...it's nearly APRIL 1st and WE HAVE SNOW?!?!?!?! Really? Where is the beautiful spring weather?

This was about 20 minutes ago
and about 5 minutes ago... and it's still coming down!
backyard shot
Sigh...I can't wait for it to get warm again.

and now....(it's been about 40 minutes since I took that first picture). The camera really doesn't pictures all the flakes that are coming down, it looks like a white wall outside my window. This is crazy!

FOOD!

Good news! I actually got Grady to eat 3 ounces of food today! This is the most solid food he has ever managed to eat. He even opened his mouth for it, which is a NEW thing! YAY!

This better be why I haven't gotten any sleep the last TWO nights!

Grady has cut a second tooth! I hope and pray this is why he has not been sleeping the last two night (even with the help of Tylenol and teething liquid).
You will never believe which tooth is the second to come through...wanna guess?
You are wrong, trust me.
Not the other bottom front tooth.
Or the top front (middle?) teeth.
It's the one next to the top front teeth just to the right. So, if the one on the left comes in next he will have "fangs".
I'll try to get a picture.

Shhhh...don't tell Papa

That I got these completely adorable shirts for the boys for our trip to California in a couple weeks. I thought the truck looks a little like Papa's truck (only this truck is one solid color!)

Burning off that energy!

Today, I took Gibson to Aunt Wanda & Uncle Steve's so that Gibson could run in the driveway and burn off some of his energy! He also got to play catch. He loves playing catch.
Grady hung out inside because it was FREEZING out today! (and there might be snow tonight!)
I think Aunt Wanda & Uncle Steve don't think I feed Gibson because everytime we go over there he begs them for food. The latest exciting thing to ask AW for is plums!
AW & the boys.
