Last summer I wrote my story of getting into flying trapeze and sent it into Fitness Magazine. I was contacted for a bit more information and some pictures and told that if they were interested in running my story, I would be contacted....fast forward to December and I hadn't heard anything from them, then one day I get an email from the gal at the magazine saying they want to run my story in the March issue of the magazine! I was SO excited.

So, we set up a time to talk on the phone and I sent even more pictures and was told to check out the March issue.

It's pretty cool. Here's the link to the story:

It's not a huge article, especially considering all the interviewing and questions I had to answer, but I'll take it :)

Flying Trapeze

This is the latest excitement from my flying adventures! Hands are the weakest link in this whole adventure. I've had rips before, but this one is the worst. When it first happened and the skin was still attached (before I clipped it) I about passed out. The room started spinning and I was very nauseous. I had to go outside to get myself together. Talk about painful....this is very painful. Ugh. It's better now (almost a week later) and I did fly on it Saturday and was ok (thanks in part to Super Glue and its ability to bond skin so it doesn't rip anymore) but I can't wait til its fully healed!

I'm telling you right now, there is nothing better than having your almost 3 year old climb up onto your lap, grab your face and give you kisses. SO SO SO sweet!

SUN! SUN! SUN!

Seriously...this is why I LOVE Seattle! The sun and when it is out here...it's so beautiful!

We of course have been heading outside anytime there is even a sliver of sun showing.

This is the first time I got to wear my flip flips this year and I'm so very happy about it!

And my neighbor has a hammock that hangs from one side of the garage to the other....let me tell you, this is cool and I fully enjoyed taking a little cat nap in there...

that is, until a few of my offspring got word that that is where I was and they needed to try it out, too.

Easter Egg Hunt!

Sonnet and I did our annual neighborhood Easter Egg hunt again this year....

We stuffed 417 eggs with toys and candy. We always have so much fun sitting and stuffing the eggs while we watch tv and talk about stuff. It's a nice time. This year, we decided to take pictures :)

And then the day of the hunt arrived! We had 13 kids this year and they were all very excited.

The weather is starting to get better....

and that means we have started playing outside in the 'sac again! Woo hoo! The kids and the mommas are HAPPY!

The Mommas Go To LAS VEGAS!

Last October some friends Kristi and I know started planning a trip to Las Vegas, so we talked about it and decided we wanted to go. We got it all worked out with the Husbands and booked our flight and hotel...

March seemed like for.eve.r away....but finally the day arrived! We flew out of Bellingham instead of Seattle, and I have to say, it was awesome! We parked the car 100 feet from the door, went right through security, walked out to the plane and were on our way...would do that again in a heartbeat!

SO excited....we are on our way!

We took a long walk down the strip. We were staying at the Flamingo and rhere was a shop I wanted to check out (a legwarmer and tights store, yes, I know I have a problem!) at Mandalay Bay so we walked to it. It was BEAUTIFUL out and the people watching is always so fun in Vegas. We were cat called, offered beer from some frat boys and asked for money. It was great.

After dinner on Friday night, we went down to Fremont Street. The Academy of Country Music awards were happening on Sunday night so there were lots of people in town for that, and there were a bunch of free concerts going on. We saw Scotty McCreary and Luke Bryan. Was really fun, but was VERY VERY packed. I have never seen anything like it there. Wow.

This was the Luke Bryan Concert *before* it got packed. I'm pretty sure Kristi thought we were going to get squished or trampled to death. It was a bit scary how big the crowd got and the lack of crowd control that was there. We finally got away from the crowd and then had a great time! Kristi was a very good sport especially considering she doesn't even like country music!

Back in January, I came across a link on Facebook for a flying trapeze place in Las Vegas. I clicked the link and started checking it out. I had been told that there wasn't anyplace to fly in Las Vegas and so was kinda bummed since I thought it would be fun to fly there...anyways, turns out a new place was going to be ready to have students at the end of January! So, I sent an email and got all the info....threw the idea out to some of my friends that were going and we made plans! You can imagine my excitement....I think I was most excited about flying OUTSIDE! And of course, introducing new people to trapeze.

Flying outside was the most amazing thing! I loved it. And the people that worked the rig were fantastic! If you are ever in Las Vegas and want to try flying trapeze, let me know and I'll put you in contact with the right person.

This is Chad. He came with us to fly. He plays in Carrie Underwood's band and was in town for the ACM's. He's full of awesome and very talented and was really excited to be able to fly on the trapeze!

Later that night after dinner at Scarpetta - which by the way, we would not go back to - Kristi and I went and saw Mystere. It was AMAZING. The best show I have ever seen. I loved every minute of it. And yes, I know it looks like I don't have a shirt on, I promise I do...its just strapless.

our 48 hours in Vegas is now over and we are on our way home....

Kristi and I had a GREAT time and it was really fun to get away and a break from our kids/daily routines. Kristi is so fun to travel with...I would travel with her anytime!

Big Church

2 weeks ago, Garrison simply would not go to Sunday School, so I gave him the option of going to his class or sitting with mommy and daddy in "big church" quietly and listening to the music and Pastor Dan. He chose to sit with us...he did really well until about the last 5 minutes. He's since been in Sunday School so, I'm not sure what his issue was that day.

Then, the next time we saw Pastor Dan at church, Garrison looks at me and says "Mommy, look its Jesus' dad." We had to tell Pastor Dan and we all got a good chuckle out of that (and of course, I explained things correctly!)

Fancy lunch!

Since we have circus class on Thursdays and its only a couple miles from Daddy's work, so we try to meet him for lunch a couple times a month. The boys really love seeing Daddy during the work day and going to his work. Anyway, this day, we had some plans to meet Daddy and our friends, Josh and Su for lunch since they were also in the area. We went to a "fancy restaurant" for lunch and the boys thought it was soooo fun! They did really well too. Grady thought his mini corndogs coming in the "cone" was a pretty need thing!
