Some random pictures from today

Aunt Wanda and Uncle Steve brought this little Hawaiian outfit back from Hawaii for Gibson. Each of the boys have worn it. Unfortunately, I think this is the first and last time G3 is going to be able to wear it. It was a bit tight on him and the buttons kept coming undone. Kid is growing faster than the clothes can keep up.

The other boys saw me taking pictures of Garrison and wanted in on the action. They were trying to be “silly” for the camera.

Garrison’s 15 month check up

 
Garrison is weighing in at 25lbs 2ozs and is 33.5 inches tall. Off the charts for height and 75% for weight. He’s doing really well and is meeting all his milestones. So far, we are not seeing any of the speech issues we had with Grady, but we continue to watch closely just in case.

Garrison has pretty much outgrown his food allergies, also. He continues to have trouble with straight milk, and since that is pretty easily avoidable, we just avoid that. He can tolerate lactose free yogurt, some cheese and it appears eggs are even ok if they are cooked in stuff. So, we are very pleased about that. I didn’t want him to have all my food issues and am very happy he seems to outgrowing all this.

Gibson & Grady’s Yearly Check-ups

Our yearly well child check ups were a bit late this year since we were in California. Our doctor can be hard to get into and with back to school and sports starting up, we had to wait quite a while for our appointments.

Anyway, Gibson is checking in at 46 inches tall and 48 lbs. Both fall into the 90% for his age. His eyes are 20/30 which is normal for a 5 year old and will get better as he gets older. He is meeting targets on everything else she checked as well. So, he is good.

Grady is 35 lbs and 38.5 inches tall. He is firmly in the 75% range for his age. Grady did REALLY well at his appointment with the doctor. This is the first appointment in about 2 years that he hasn’t freaked out at. I had warned her the day before when we were there with Gibson, and so she was prepared. We were both VERY pleased with Grady and his willingness to let her check him out and cooperate with her requests. His eyes, ears, reflexes, whatever else she checked out all look good. Poor baby did have to have a shot, but he didn’t utter a peep until the assistant put on a bandaid, then he FREAKED and we had to take it off. Then, all was back to being fine. Crazy kid.

Anyway, both are good and ready for school! YAY!

Pine Meadows Park

The boys and I tried out a new park this last week. They really liked it. We will be going back!


Gibson was very excited because he learned how to slide down the pole, so now he “is a big kid”.

Wedding in Portland

On August 14th we were invited to a wedding down in Portland at a beautiful 85 acre estate called Duckridge Farms. The wedding was for one of Gregg’s co-workers. So, we found a sitter for the boys (Thanks again, Amity) since no children were invited and got a hotel room for us (yay, a night away, that NEVER happens and since the wedding didn’t start til 5:30, there was no way we were getting back to pick up the boys at a reasonable hour) and we headed down to Portland.

We dropped the boys off and then went and checked in to our hotel to get ready and then started the 30 minute drive to the wedding site. The farm belongs to a family member of the bride’s and so they were able to use the location for the perfect wedding setting. To say the place is beautiful is a serious understatement. I wish we had gotten there earlier to walk around and take a few more pictures. This is a piece of property that dreams are made of.

I wish I had gotten more pictures, we were too busy enjoying ourselves! The food was really good. I’m told the cake was delish too.

These are Amity’s girls, Alaina and Aislynn, with the boys. They helped Amity with keeping the boys in check.

On the way home we made a pit stop at Cabela’s. The boys needed to get out of the car and honestly, so did Gregg and I. So we ran around there for about 1/2 hour before getting back in the car to sit in more traffic.

(I am not sure I will EVER be able to get all 4 boys looking at the camera at the same time)




I let Garrison down for a bit when we were upstairs. He had such a blast running around looking at everything and point to it and saying “ooooooo”. He is so stinkin’ cute.

Gibson informed me we needed a hammock. I agreed, but we left without one, sadly.


Back in the car. *sigh*
The rest of the ride home was longer than the first half.

Bear head

The boys thought it was really funny to put the stuff bear on Daddy’s head. Daddy didn’t think it was quite as funny as they did, but he was a good sport about it!

Computer issues means

no more posts for tonight. For some reason my Live Writer keeps timing out and that means, things are going a LOT slower than I had hoped…

So, I’m done for tonight. More later.

Pool Time

On one of our nice and sunny days, Sonnet called and said she was setting up the pool in the back yard and we were welcome to come over….of course, the boys were very excited about this, so we packed up our towels, donned our swimming gear and headed over.

This was my attempt to get the 4 kids to take a group picture. Ya, big FAIL.
 
G3 just looked on, he wasn’t having any part in the cold water of the pool. 
 
and instead chose to stand by me and hang on for dear life, or snuggle with Sonnet.
